Hell Month: New Pools or Newly Refinished

The period of 30 days after your new pool is completed or 30 days after re surfacing is done. You need to begin brushing your pool's surface, every square inch twice a day. This does a few things to insure that your finish comes out looking it's best. Brushing during this period encourages the finish to cure completely, agitates the water in the finished product to the surface, removes surface dust and exposes the aggregate in aggregate finishes. Not brushing the surface properly or daily will have some undesired effects to the finished look of your new shell, such as hard crust spots or an all over hard crust layer and / or water spots/stains, both of which are timely and costly to get rid of.  ... Water spots/stains are darkish spots in your finished surface that is caused by trapped moisture during the 30 day curing process.
